Amaravati: There has been confusion regarding the Group-2 exams in Andhra Pradesh. In this context, Chief Minister Chandrababu responded on the matter. On Saturday, he held a teleconference with party leaders regarding the MLC elections and Assembly sessions. During the meeting, he made it clear that the government is committed to postponing the Group-2 exams. He mentioned that candidates have been protesting for three days regarding the roster system. Once the candidates' concerns were brought to their attention, the government considered possible solutions.
The state government wrote a letter to APPSC requesting the postponement of the exams, considering the hearing in court on March 11. The Chief Minister explained that the government’s position is to hold the exams only after rectifying the reservation roster issues. It is noteworthy that a petition has been filed in the Andhra Pradesh High Court regarding the roster issue. The High Court is scheduled to hear the petition again on the 11th of next month. The state government has written a letter requesting that the exams not be held until then, as there is still time to file an affidavit in the court.
Meanwhile, candidates have been protesting for several days demanding the postponement of the Group-2 main exams and changes to the roster system. The candidates approached the High Court, which issued interim orders refusing to suspend the exams. On the Single Judge’s orders, the candidates appealed to the High Court to stay the decision and suspend the Group-2 main exams scheduled for the 23rd (Vaartha).
